As the Programme Manager /​ Events Co-ordinator you will run Deshima's events department that's responsible for developing and delivering world-class events in Deshima on Second life. Resources at your disposal will be the ability to use Deshima's experienced content creators in assistance with event projects as well as a flexible budget.

Specifically your responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of new event projects within the science fiction theme of Deshima, maintaining a witty level of "grey roleplay".
  • Deshima prides itself on being an unique area and thus, events that can be applied specific to the location to the theme such as scavenger hunts, races, dog fighting are strongly encouraged.
  • Weekly reporting of key issues/​milestones (project, operational and financial).
  • Deal with all aspects of the event, from enquiry through to completion, including contracting, invoicing and budgeting when planning these events.
  • Using solid communication skills and professional operations /​ logistical experience.
  • Using strong negotiation skills.
  • Research, planning and create innovative programmes, constantly liaising with new vistors.
  • Advertising the events.
  • Delivering exceptional levels of service, maintaining a strong visitor relationship.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
  • Cultural awareness within the different markets.


To be considered for this position, you must have events management/​co-ordination experience, preferably in Second life.​ You will also need to demonstrate strong communication, time management and customer service skills.​

Whilst not essential, the ideal Programme Manager /​ Events Co-ordinator will also have experience in some/​or all of the following: organizing unique game activities, managing budgets and previous experience in working around problematic situations.
